Sacrificial love

I want to challenge you to think long and hard about something today…. What have you given up or sacrificed?

As I think about the question I just asked. I have to say that my sacrifices are small in comparison to some. At the time I thought they where big or even giant. The lose of friends over the years, accident that damaged my back for life or the loose of a baby promised to me by a birth mom. I could go on about painful times in my life, but I am not writing about me.

The point in asking the question above was to help you the reader to think. See if that one or two things you might be holding as pain and sacrifice are not as big as we think. Don’t get me wrong your sacrifice could be worth it all.

In my life two people have impacted me by there sacrifice more then I thought it would.
1. Jesus Christ. He sacrificed the biggest and most painful sacrifice. Christ not only lived on this earth, but he had trails and pain. He even took nails and bleed to death in his last days. Hebrews 12:2 looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

2. Birth Mom. A women who selfless and places her child before her needs. Birth moms carry the daily voild of giving part of them self away. My daughters BM is loving, selfless, caring, beautiful, worthy of all the love that our family has for her and her family. The birth mom I meet in West Jordan, Utah seemed scared and sure that giving up her baby to a people she never meet was the right thing.
Since that day I have prayed that the selfless love that she has given would be noted. We love and hope to fully embrace her into are lives. I cry when I think of our birth mom and what sacrifice she gave on June 9, 2011 when she signed Gracelyn to our care. I have cried thinking of the void she must have. Must of all I pray she sees how much we love and cherish every moment.

Please take the time to place someone and there needs before you and yours. Sacrifice is worth it.
